Nokia N95 unlocked

Two weeks ago my best mate, Andrew Banks, got himself own Nokia N95 Phone. He got it second hand with an Orange SIM but his on O2 so he needed the N95 phone unlocked. He must think I’m a tech guy and would know how to do it! Or maybe it’s because I’ve a Nokia N95 as well. Unfortunately, I didn’t know how to unlock it so I decided to do some research and found out that it’s quite simple. I thought I’d post my findings here, just in case someone else needs to unlock their N95 as well.
· The first ting you need to do is get a new Orange Pay as you go SIM as you must have an Orange account in order to get the N95 unlocked. You can get an Orange Pay as you go SIM at your local phone shop or off the Orange website for £1.
· Orange will charge you £20 to unlock the phone so use your debit card to put £20 on the account.
· Insert the new SIM in the phone. If you get registration failure, you will need to register the SIM by ringing Orange pay as you go on 07973 100 450 or via the Orange website.
· Wait at least two hours for the SIM to be properly registered and then phone Orange and tell them that you want your phone unlocked.
· Orange will ask for the IMEI number of the phone. Press *#06# and the IMEI number will be displayed on screen, or check behind the battery.
· Orange will then send you an email or letter containing the unlock code which is specific to the IMEI that you provided but it will take 7-14 days to arrive.
· Enter the code and your Nokia N95 is unlocked!
